Barefoot Hearts is an innovative educational and animal sanctuary, nestled in a private natural forest in the beautiful surroundings of Turís, Valencia.
Inspired by Summerhill, our project offers a unique blend of democratic schooling and sustainable living, featuring a plant-based canteen and a strong focus on emotional health over academics. We also have a co-working area for parents who want to work or take care of other matters while their little ones have fun.
We emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, entrepreneurship, and child-led, project-based education.
Created by and for families seeking an alternative and respectful education, Barefoot Hearts provides children aged 3 to 12 the opportunity to shape their own learning journey while deeply engaging with nature and embracing the values of compassion, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
