Artabán is a school located in the municipality of Galapagar, in the north-western Sierra of the Community of Madrid. It follows the Waldorf (Steiner) educational approach in both Primary Education and Special Education.
We accompany children through a respectful and active educational journey, integrating academic learning, social life and a deep respect for individual developmental rhythms.
We understand diversity as an inherent human condition and as an opportunity for enrichment for the entire educational community.
We offer an educational environment in which learning is meaningful for each pupil, fostering responsibility and strong, trusting relationships with key adult figures, in line with the principles of Waldorf education.
Within our Special Education provision, we also offer Compulsory Basic Education, including the adolescent stage up to the age of 16.
We cultivate close relationships with Waldorf early-years settings in our local area, as well as with Waldorf secondary schools and upper schools, supporting each child and young person along their continuous educational path.
The “Asociación Familias Sierra Guadarrama” is the legal body that runs Artabán School. It is made up of families, teachers and friends who support and sustain the initiative.
