Acerca de Roots and Wings
Nuestra aula es totalmente bilingüe, con hispanohablantes siempre presentes junto con facilitadores en inglés. El objetivo es crear un entorno enriquecedor y atractivo donde los pequeños estudiantes absorban de forma natural tanto el inglés como el español a través del juego, la interacción y la exploración.
Las habilidades en arte, música, movimiento, narración, lectoescritura y aritmética emergen orgánicamente como subproductos de este entorno cuidadosamente diseñado, en un ambiente cálido, relajado y enriquecedor que honra la curiosidad innata de los niños y su pasión por aprender.
En esencia, valoramos un auténtico ambiente familiar. Nuestro propio hijo asiste, y los padres voluntarios desempeñan un papel vital en el ritmo diario del proyecto. Poco a poco, estamos construyendo una comunidad diversa que comparte nuestro deseo de crear un mundo más amable, resiliente y creativo.
Nos inspiramos en muchos de los enfoques pioneros de la educación alternativa: el énfasis de María Montessori en las habilidades para la vida real, el enfoque de Reggio Emilia en la educación emergente y la participación de los padres, y la sabiduría de la filosofía de la Escuela del Bosque, combinando estos principios según las necesidades de nuestros estudiantes y nuestra capacidad para apoyarlos. El resultado es un programa dinámico y equilibrado que cuida a cada niño.
Las sesiones están cuidadosamente diseñadas y cuentan con el apoyo necesario, lo que permite una combinación perfecta de actividades estructuradas basadas en el juego y la exploración libre guiada por los niños. También pasamos mucho tiempo al aire libre en un hermoso parque cercano, lo que les brinda a los niños un amplio espacio para conectar con la naturaleza y la libertad de explorar y sentir el viento en su cabello y el sol en su piel.
Nuestro objetivo es crear un entorno que fomente la confianza, la competencia y la creatividad; para que nuestros niños puedan prosperar y contribuir positivamente al mundo que los rodea.

No podría estar más feliz con mi decisión de traer a mi hija a esta escuela. Lo que más valoro es el respeto absoluto por el ritmo individual de cada niño; no se les presiona, sino que se les apoya con una gran sensibilidad, lo que les permite desarrollarse a su propio ritmo.
La inmersión en inglés es tan natural que me sorprende la facilidad con la que integra el idioma a través del juego y las actividades cotidianas. Otro aspecto importante son sus excursiones al aire libre. Es vital que los niños salgan del aula, y aquí, el contacto con la naturaleza es constante.
Estas salidas no son solo paseos; son experiencias sensoriales que les aportan calma, curiosidad y un bienestar físico y emocional envidiable. Ver a mi hija crecer en un entorno que prioriza el bienestar fuera de las cuatro paredes del aula me da una inmensa tranquilidad. Y la pasión que siente por su profesora, Bianca... gracias también a un grupo reducido, es una profesional que me hace sentir que mi hija es vista, escuchada y que se le permite crecer libremente. ¡Un colegio que realmente entiende las necesidades de los niños!

“Estamos encantados con la escuela. El grupo es pequeño y las actividades de aprendizaje son variadas y están bien pensadas. Los niños aprenden mucho y más rápido que en una escuela tradicional. Además, están aprendiendo inglés y español casi sin darse cuenta. Además, Bianca es maravillosa con los niños; nunca grita, pero sabe cómo animarlos a trabajar. Bianca cuenta con más de 20 años de experiencia enseñando a niños de primaria (3-11 años) en algunos de los colegios internacionales más prestigiosos de Europa. Y lo que es más importante, es una facilitadora talentosa y compasiva, con un talento especial para sacar lo mejor de sus alumnos. Además, es muy humilde y no me deja escribir más, jaja, pero los testimonios de padres que mencioné lo dicen todo.
Yo (Mark) llegué a la docencia como segunda profesión y, tras varios años como asistente de profesor, completé un Certificado de Posgrado en Educación en la Universidad de Nottingham y me dediqué a la docencia en Educación Física. Sin embargo, mi pasión siempre ha sido la naturaleza y, por suerte, es aquí donde Bianca se encuentra más en paz.

Our classroom is truly bilingual, with Spanish speakers always present alongside English facilitators. The goal is to create a rich, engaging environment where young learners naturally absorb both English and Spanish through play, interaction, and exploration.
Skills in art, music, movement, story telling, literacy & numeracy emerge organically as by-products of this carefully crafted setting, in a warm, relaxed, and nurturing atmosphere that honours children’s innate curiosity and love of learning.
At our core, we cherish a genuine family feel. Our own child attends, and parental volunteers play a vital role in the day to day rhythms of the project. Slowly we are building a diverse community that shares our desire to create a kinder, more resilient and creative world.
We draw inspiration from many of the pioneering approaches in alternative education — Maria Montessori’s emphasis on real life skills, Reggio Emilia’s focus on emergent education and parental involvement, and wisdom of Forest School philosophy — blending these principles according to the needs of our students and our abilities to support them. The result is a dynamic, balanced program that nurtures each child.
Sessions are thoughtfully designed and supported, allowing for a seamless mix of structured, play-based activities and child-led free exploration. We also spend a lot of time outdoors in a beautiful nearby park, giving children ample space to connect with nature and freedom to explore and feel the wind in their hair and the sun of their skin.
Our goal is to create an environment which fosters confidence, competence, and creativity; so our children can thrive and positively contribute to the world around them.

“We are delighted with the school. The group is small and the learning activities are varied and well thought out. The children are learning a lot and faster than in a traditional school. Not to mention that they are learning English and Spanish almost without realising it. What’s more, Bianca is wonderful with the children; she never shouts, but she knows how to get them to work. Everything is done with kindness and parents are often consulted. The icing on the cake is that there are lots of outdoor physical activities.”

Bianca brings more than 20 years of experience teaching primary-aged children (3–11) at some of Europe’s most respected international schools. More importantly she is a gifted and compassionate facilitator, and has a talent for bringing out the very best in her students. She is also very humble and won’t let me write more lol, but the parental testimonials above speak volumes.
I (Mark) came to teaching as a second career, and after several years as a teaching assistant, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with the University of Nottingham and went on to teach PE, however my passion has always been for the ‘great outdoors’ and luckily for me this is where Bianca is also most at peace.
