Small by design. Big on confidence, creativity, and connection.
Roots and Wings is a nurturing English-language family group for children aged 3–6 (maximum 9 children). We offer a flexible, immersive environment where kids build real English fluency while exploring, playing, and growing at their own pace.
Perfect for international and remote-working families in Spain who split time between countries, travel, or need a schedule that adapts to your lifestyle. Whether it’s two days a week or a few months a year, your child is always welcome.
Why families love us:
Two full outdoor days a week (rain or shine) just a 5-minute walk from the beautiful Parque de las Américas. We believe the benefits of fresh air, nature play, and freedom far outweigh the extra laundry. With a 3:1 adult-to-child ratio on outdoor days, children stay safe while exploring the wider world.
English immersion in a joyful, low-pressure setting — where language develops naturally through play, stories, songs, real-life activities, and meaningful conversations.
Inspired by the best approaches: Montessori’s hands-on practical life skills, Reggio Emilia’s emergent, child-led projects and strong parental collaboration, and Kurt Hahn’s belief in experiential, character-building learning.
We keep things intentionally small so every child feels seen, supported, and safe to take risks — whether that’s climbing a tree, mastering numbers, or performing their latest song.
Meet our family
Bianca brings over 20 years of experience teaching primary children (ages 3–11) in some of Europe’s top international schools. More importantly, she is a gifted, compassionate facilitator who knows how to spark curiosity and support each child’s unique development.
Mark (me!) transitioned from personal training into teaching after volunteering with outdoor programs at our children’s school. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Nottingham and am happiest outdoors — an “outdoor cat” through and through.
Rudy (4) — our youngest team member — loves swimming, climbing, numbers, and singing at the top of his voice. After his previous school (the wonderful Mango Tree in La Herradura) closed, he’s now fully part of our Roots and Wings adventure, and he’s thriving.
