Reggio Emilia approach
The Reggio Emilia approach rejects the idea of the child understood as a weak being without initiative who must be trained (easy prey, as an adult, for totalitarianism). On the contrary, from Reggio, it is defended that the child has strength, abilities and interest in exploring and getting to know their environment. As in free schools, much learning starts from the interests of the children themselves, but in addition, provocations take on great importance: educators, through the preparation of materials, excursions, readings... they seek to arouse interest in other topics that initially perhaps had not aroused the curiosity of the little ones.
