Madre de día - Amaia’s Playgroup
A home where children can feel comfortable and make the most of every day. With a maximum of 4 children who will receive respectful and individualized attention.
Inspired by the philosophies of Maria Montessori, Emmi Pikler and Reggio Emilia, I have created a space rich in materials appropriate to their ages and interests where they can play freely. On specific days artistic proposals, cooking or sensory stimulation will be offered.
Throughout the day at Amaia's Playgroup the children will be spoken in English, including being read stories aloud, singing songs and nursery rhymes in English during story time. We will also listen to carefully curated music, including “music together” songs & classical music.
I will respect their rhythms and gently guide them in learning to care for themselves and their environment, thus promoting their autonomy by inviting them to water the plants or set and clear the table at meals. We will spend time in our beautiful garden in the morning and afternoon, where the children will be offered healthy snacks and have the opportunity to crawl or run on the grass, slide down the slide, play in the sandbox, swing and explore the trees, all according to their age and developmental levels.
Who I am?
Let me introduce myself. My name is Amaia, creator of @amaiasplaygroup, located in the Parque del Conde de Orgaz. Amaia's Playgroup was born from the idea of being a CHILDMINDER in English.
As an early childhood education teacher and pedagogue, I have more than 10 years experience working with children from 0 to 3 years old in different schools in several countries. My long professional career has led me to specialize in the philosophies of Reggio Emilia, Maria Montessori, and Emmi Pikler.
After living abroad for 11 years, 6 of them in Texas, I have returned to Madrid speaking fluent English and with suitcase full of resources that I am going to use so that your children learn English naturally while they play, integrating it into their daily routine.
The experience of having cared for our children during their first 3 years of life, before they went to school, has shown me the viability of this beautiful project of caring for other children in our home just as I did with mine. In addition to having an adapted house and materials for children of this age, the urbanization has a beautiful garden with a playground that they can also enjoy.
