La Petita Mimosa was born over 10 years ago as a Madre de Día — a home-based childcare project. Over time, it has grown into a certified early childhood school, while keeping its warm, home-like roots at the heart of everything we do.
Our routines are inspired by Waldorf and Montessori philosophies, but what does that really mean? A calm, nurturing environment filled with natural materials, a gentle rhythm to our days and weeks, and — most importantly — a deep respect for the child as the protagonist of their own learning journey.
We believe play is the child’s most important work. Our role as adults is to observe, guide, and create a beautiful, intentional space where little ones can explore, be themselves, and grow during these foundational years.
We honor each child’s maternal language and offer support in Catalan, English, and Spanish, encouraging natural communication and connection.
Our days unfold like they would in a loving home — through meaningful routines, storytelling, finger games, songs, free movement, and artistic expression. Imagination and creativity are nurtured just as much as independence and confidence.
