Hakuna Matata was born from the dream of opening its doors with a loving and enriching educational project, accompanying and sharing with the youngest members of the family and their families a very important stage of their lives. We offer a familiar, welcoming, safe, and natural environment, respecting each child’s developmental stages and individual rhythms.
The children enjoy a privileged setting where peace and tranquility prevail, surrounded by nature, with spacious and diverse indoor and outdoor areas that encourage free play at all times, awakening curiosity and the desire to explore every corner.
Our approach is inspired by Waldorf pedagogy, in the sense that building a strong emotional foundation is essential for a child’s optimal intellectual development. We also draw from the experiences and values of Rudolf Steiner and Maria Montessori, creating a prepared environment that is orderly, aesthetic, simple, and real, where every element has a purpose in the child’s development, naturally promoting socialization, respect, and solidarity.
We share Emmi Pikler’s view of the child as a free and curious explorer, as well as the foundations of learning and developmental theory proposed by Jean Piaget. Other early childhood education professionals and authors such as Rebeca Wild and Eulàlia Torres highlight the importance of respectful parenting at home and of allowing children to experience their own developmental processes within a protected, non-directive environment, while also recognizing the need to complement this freedom with the learning of consistent and coherent boundaries.
Objectives
Our objectives focus on stimulating the senses, nurturing imagination, and strengthening each child’s will.
