The Rural Grouped School of Tábara includes two classrooms located in the village of Faramontanos, where the “Montessori” project has recently been introduced. One classroom caters to pupils aged three to eight (Children’s House and Workshop I), while the other accommodates those aged nine to twelve (Workshop II). The headteacher, who also teaches at the school, holds qualifications as a Montessori guide, among others.
The school is equipped with new furniture and Montessori materials suitable for both early years and primary education. Additionally, it takes part in a volunteer programme run by the Junta de Castilla y León, which enlists native speakers to assist with English and German language instruction.
There are several other initiatives on offer, including an educational gardening project, free afternoon workshops led by the teaching staff, and the Early Bird service, which provides care from eight in the morning until the start of lessons at half past nine.
Situated in an exceptional natural setting near the Sierra de la Culebra, the school integrates the science curriculum with the surrounding environment, allowing children to learn directly through their experiences in nature. Thanks to its small class sizes, the school is able to provide a highly personalised education for its pupils.
